Mess Hall
There is this place in Chicago called Mess Hall which can be described as a 'culture center', they have meetings, talks, workshops, and exhibitions. I came across this article after our discussion about the 'institution' we are in and why most of us chose to come to grad school. In this article they pose an interesting ? about MFA programs and culture centers. LINK

Take a look at the Philadelphia Institute for Advanced Study.
acoustic research, pure mathematics, artist in residences..... that place is odd but interesting. they could really spend some time and update the 'about us' video.
This site summarizes artist projects and experimental schools, which relate to the Mess Hall.
